What is the Asterion Foundation? Asterion Foundation™ provides mini-grants to support astronomy research and outreach projects across the United States. We fund schools, universities, libraries, planetaria, observatories, museums, and science clubs.
Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000, with some awarded as partial grants for lead sponsorship, matching fundraisers, or finishing funds. By their own initiative, past and present foundation directors have launched special outreach programs, including the distribution of free solar eclipse glasses, the 50th Anniversary Apollo Moon Landing poster contest for libraries, and the Solar Eclipse Ceremonial Mask activity.
Your organization is welcome to apply for funding for similar projects. Do you have a project we can help lift off? Many of our previous grant recipients have focused on meteoritics, funding initiatives such as meteorite exhibits in museums, all-night meteor detection cameras (CAMS), and paleo-astronomy research on microtektites in fossilized mollusks.
