Any Massachusetts teacher or school can apply to support their agricultural education efforts. Grants in an amount up to $1,500 are awarded three times a year. Applications are due April 1, September 1, and November 1.
Since 1994, MAC has funded more than 200 projects for an amount totaling more than $180,000. Some projects have included: - Transportation for a visit to the farm or farmers market. - Funding to bring a farmer to the classroom.
- Supplemental Agricultural education materials and books for the classroom. - Support for materials and speakers for teaching an agricultural unit. - Embryology, hydroponic, aquaculture and composting resources.
Massachusetts Agriculture in the Classroom mini-grants do not support: salaries, purchasing a computer or computer equipment, or other projects not directly associated with Massachusetts agricultural education.
