MNA Foundation Scholarships & Grants - Minnesota Nurses Association MNA Foundation Scholarships & Grants The Minnesota Nurses Association Foundation (MNAF), a non-profit corporation affiliated with the Minnesota Nurses Association, awards scholarships and grants each year to advance the nursing profession and create more opportunities for students to achieve their goals.
MNA members, members’ dependents and grandchildren, nursing students, and veterans are eligible to apply for MNA Foundation Scholarships. 2026 MNAF scholarship applications are now closed. Additional scholarships and grants are listed below with upcoming deadlines.
Scholarship applications for the 2027-2028 academic school year will be available in 2027. MNAF’s scholarships and grants are listed below. Any MNA member in good standing is eligible to apply for an MNA Member Scholarship.
MNA Associate Member Scholarships Any MNA associate member in good standing is eligible to apply for an Associate Member Scholarship. Applicants are typically undergraduate nursing students. Children, grandchildren, or dependents of active or retired MNA members in good standing are eligible to apply for an MNA Legacy Scholarship.
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program. Mary Eliza Mahoney Scholarships $2,500/semester, Max. four semesters of nursing school for up to total of $10,000 Any member of another healthcare union who is not currently working as a nurse and who has enrolled in a program to become a registered nurse is eligible to apply for the Mary Eliza Mahoney Scholarship.
Alex Pretti Honor Scholarship Students who are living the ideals lived by Alex Pretti and who are an MNA member or associate member or a child, grandchild or dependent of an active or retired MNA member in good standing are eligible to apply for the Alex Pretti Honor Scholarship.
40 & 8 Veterans Scholarships Applicants for the Veterans Scholarship are eligible to apply if they: Are pursuing a degree in nursing and who are currently serving or have served honorably in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, or Have served honorably in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces for a total of five credible years or more cumulatively, and any part of that service occurred on or after 9/11/2001, or Are a spouse or child of a person who has served in the military at any time, or Are an alumni of another service agency.
Rolling Deadlines: January 1, April 1, June 1, October 1 New Brookwood Labor College Scholarship The MNA New Brookwood Labor College Scholarship is awarded to three (3) MNA members in good standing to attend a class at New Brookwood Labor College .

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers.
