**Promoting the growth of Minority Business Enterprises in every sector** Our network of Business Centers and technical assistance programs is an indispensable resource for MBEs working to overcome obstacles and grow their business. MBDA promotes the growth of minority business enterprises through the mobilization and advancement of public and private sector programs, policy, and research. In FY24, MBDA facilitated access to $1.

5 billion in capital, empowering minority business enterprises. FY24 saw MBDA's diligent efforts culminate in over $2. 6 billion in contract awards to minority business enterprises.

Throughout FY24, MBDA played a pivotal role in empowering minority business enterprises to generate or safeguard over 11,000 jobs. The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) traces its origins back to March 5, 1969, when President Richard M. Nixon established it as the Office of Minority Business Enterprise.

Through this action, President Nixon acknowledged the significant contributions of minority business enterprises to the nation's economy and overall welfare, thus establishing a federal agency exclusively dedicated to supporting minority business enterprises.
