GSF Brazil | Center for International Studies Supporting new research collaborations between MIT and Brazil The 2025-2026 MIT Global Seed Funds Application is now closed. The applications for the 2026-2027 cycle will open in the Fall. MIT-Brazil Amazonia Seed Fund The MIT-Brazil Amazonia Seed Fund supports collaborations between MIT and universities, research institutions and NGOs across Brazil.
Launched in partnership with Amazonia 2030, the fund focuses on projects addressing the Brazilian Amazonian region in the following areas: Medical sciences and technology Climate and sustainability: Nature-based solutions for carbon sequestration Biology and biologic diversity Sustainable economic development Climate change adaptation Applicants from all regions of Brazil are welcome; however, the main Brazilian collaborator(s) must be based in — and the proposed project must be directly relevant to — the Amazonian Biome in Brazil.
