Historically, Spring Training has provided critical fundraising and promotional opportunities for many nonprofits in Arizona and Florida. However, this year’s shortened season and the continued high demand for nonprofit services have negatively impacted these organizations and those they serve.
Through the Players Trust, MLB Players have stepped up to the plate with the Fastball Fund, providing $5K rapid-response grants so that nonprofits can continue to meet important need gaps for youth and others in our target communities. Westwood High School (@westwoodwarriors62) was the first recipient of the Fastball Fund. The grant will support their baseball program to ensure the team has what they need to succeed on and off the field.
