*APHL-CDC Bioinformatics Fellowship Fellows apply their skills to a range of important and emerging public health problems, while gaining experience in their fields (metagenomics, human genetics, algorithm/software development, microbial genomics, or other research area).

Laessig Newborn Screening Fellowship The program prepares laboratory scientists for careers in NBS and/or genetics research while also strengthening “local, state and federal public health infrastructures to support surveillance and implement prevention and control programs,” as stated in the CDC prevention strategy goal.

Those with a MPH or doctoral degree prior to the beginning of the fellowship *ASPPH/CDC Tribal Health Department Fellowship Training to provide capacity-building assistance to the tribal health departments Those with a graduate degree prior to the start of the fellowship *CDC/CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellowship Program Rigorous on-the-job training in applied epidemiology and public health at a state or local health agency.

Master’s or doctoral degree in epidemiology or related field CDC Evaluation Fellowship Fellows are placed in host programs across the agency working on program evaluation activities. The Evaluation Fellowship offers a unique training opportunity with clear expectations and supportive resources, including professional development funds provided by the host program.

In this experiential learning model, Fellows learn evaluation skills working in their host program while helping their host program build, expand, and/or improve their evaluation activities.

Master’s degree or doctoral degree CDC Knowledge Translation and Implementation Science Fellowship Fellows learn about best practices related to knowledge translation and development of products using health communications best practice principles.

Undergraduates; graduate; post-master’s; doctoral; postdoctoral Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) Two year, field-based training program for early career public health professionals with little or no public health work experience who are interested in frontline public health practice. com The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host a total of two PHEFA Fellows in its field offices in Fort Collins, Colorado; one PHEFA Fellow in Atlanta, Georgia; and one PHEFA Fellow in San Juan, Puerto Rico Fellows will conduct research alongside experienced entomologists in CDC’s Division of Vector-Borne Diseases who are creating solutions to public health challenges, like Dengue, Zika virus, Lyme disease, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

Public Health Informatics Fellowship Program (PHIFP) Opportunities to apply computer and information science to help solve public health problems. Master’s or doctoral degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field August 15–November 1, 2025 *Public Health Institute/CDC Global Public Health Fellowship Program The fellowship offers training and experience in the field of global public health.

Fellows work in CDC offices in the U.S. and abroad. Areas of focus are program management, epidemiology, surveillance, monitoring & evaluation, strategic information, and HIV/AIDS prevention.
