With our moving assistance grants, we help people like you pay for moving services like full-service moves, moving container rentals, truck rentals, car shipping, and more. Anyone planning a move in the next six months can apply for our moving assistance grant. We’ll reimburse you up to $500 of the cost of your moving expenses. This reimbursement will come in the form of a one-time payment (via direct deposit to your bank account) after you have finished your move. Move.

org ranks and reviews moving companies—and we need your input. As part of the grant process, we’ll ask about your moving experience in the following ways: Photos and video of your move Correspondence between you and the moving company (emails and forms) Video interview with you (via Zoom) In the moving surveys and video interview, we’ll ask you some questions like the ones below: How much did your move cost?

How was your experience with the company's customer service? Did the moving company safely deliver all of your furniture and belongings? The information you share with us will add to our moving company reviews, which will help our readers know which moving companies they can trust.

What is the process? How long does it take to pick the grant recipient? If you’re eligible for a moving grant, we’ll email you within 30 days of your moving date.

Then we’ll schedule a phone interview to confirm that you’re a good fit for our grant. After that, you’ll fill out a pre-move survey, a post-move survey, and send us photos and paperwork from your move. We aim to have the whole process wrapped up within two weeks of your move-in date, and then we send you the financial aid via direct deposit to your bank account—easy peasy.

How would I get notified if I was accepted as a grant recipient? If we’re considering you for a moving grant, we’ll send you an email (from [email protected] ) to arrange a phone interview and see if you’re a good fit for our moving grant. Do I have to use a moving company on the list?

What if I want to use something else? To receive a moving grant, you must use one of the moving companies on our list. Someday we’ll add local movers to our moving grant program, but right now we’re focusing on moving companies that are available nationwide.

I’m moving to a city outside the United States. Can I apply? Yes!

We’re interested in international relocations as well as domestic moves. If I didn’t hear anything, can I apply again? Yep!

We review relocation assistance candidates each month and email potential winners within 30 days of their move date. If you haven’t heard from us, it’s probably because your relocation is more than 30 days away. That said, you can always reapply.
