Movement Focus Area Grant

Movement Focus Area Grant is sponsored by Quimby Family Foundation. Supports nature-based recreation and active transportation projects. Funding can be used for trails, parks, outdoor events, and other programs that deepen connections between people, movement, and nearby nature.

Fostering stronger relationships between people and nature through movement and nourishment. We award grants to Maine-based nonprofits who are working to advance Human Wholeness. We have two grant periods each year.

Each period serves both of our focus areas. Creating and supporting opportunities for people to consistently choose, and meaningfully experience, nearby nature and wilderness through movement and activity. Creating and supporting opportunities for people to consistently choose regional and plant-based foods that restore human and environmental health.

‍ ‍ Alan Day Community Garden MISSION : We improve our community's health by providing opportunities to build relationships, learn, and grow food together. Western Foothills Land Trust MISSION: We are dedicated to the conservation and protection of native ecosystems, farm and forestlands, watersheds, and scenic landscapes for the benefit of wild and human communities in western Maine.

MISSION: We educate generations of food growers, environmental stewards and community contributors through experiential education in orchards and gardens. We envision thriving Maine communities rooted in reciprocal relationships with nature. We see people connecting with, eating from, and caring for Maine's farms, woods, and waters.
