The two campuses leverage their considerable strengths to attract exceptional faculty, to better serve students, and to position the state in a new economy. The task of achieving these actions as well as realizing the full potential of the partnership is the responsibility of the Joint Steering Council , whose members have been appointed by the two presidents.
The Joint Steering Council reports to the presidents, who have dual authority for resource allocation and oversight over the partnership’s projects and programs. The Presidents report progress and activity to the Maryland General Assembly, Chancellor of the University System of Maryland (USM), and to the USM Board of Regents.
