MSDE Home Visiting - Healthy Families Grant Program – FY 27 is sponsored by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). MSDE Home Visiting - Healthy Families – FY 27 Office of Teaching & Learning College and Career Pathways Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association MSDE Home Visiting - Healthy Families – FY 27 The primary purpose of the funding is to provide resources at the local level to strengthen community-based services to children, youth, and families with a focus on increasing childhood well-being and with intentional efforts to address childhood trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), address racial and ethnic disparities, and promote research-informed practices.

Early intervention activities result in an increase in positive maternal health outcomes, strengthening the parent-child bond, promoting childhood well-being and school readiness, and family economic self-sufficiency. State funding targets evidence-based and promising home visiting programs for improving parent and child outcomes.

Through this grant program, funding is awarded to eligible entities across Maryland, including Local Management Boards (LMBs) and other qualified public or private organizations, to develop community partnership agreements and implement an evidence-based home visiting model to provide services to vulnerable families with young children, ages birth to five. $4,590,667 is available under this funding opportunity. MSDE reserves the right to renew the grant for two additional funding years through June 30, 2030, contingent upon available funds, compliance, and State budget approval. Estimated Number of Grants MSDE anticipates awarding twenty-four (24) grants.

Award amounts range from This funding opportunity is open to eligible public and private entities licensed or authorized to do business in Maryland, including but not limited to Local Management Boards (LMBs), nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, local government agencies, and other qualified entities with the demonstrated capacity to implement an evidence-based home visiting program in accordance with Md.

Human Services Code Ann. §8-301. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to implement and oversee an evidence-based or promising home visiting model, either directly or through an approved contracted agency, and must meet all programmatic, fiscal, reporting, and accreditation or certification requirements set forth in the Grant Information Guide.
