03 | Mott Foundation Multi-Agency Grants Initiative: Advice Office Regranting Project Hlanganisa Community Fund NPC Increasing Access to Justice June 1, 2017–May 31, 2019 Johannesburg, South Africa Hlanganisa Institute of Development Southern Africa NPC, previously known as Hivos – South Africa, was established in 2006 to seek new and innovative solutions to persistent social challenges.
The Multi-Agency Grants Initiative, managed by the grantee, is a collaborative venture between various funders in South Africa. Its purpose is to provide a responsive mechanism for making small grants to community-based organizations, including community advice offices.
Past support enabled the grantee to re-grant to community advice offices in the Free State province and support training and mentoring activities to strengthen the advice offices. This grant will enable the grantee to support six community advice offices in the Free State province that provide legal advice and related services to poor and marginalized people, particularly people living and working on farms.
