Multistate Conservation Grant Program (Traditional MSCG) is sponsored by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). This program provides funding for sport fish and wildlife restoration projects and recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) projects that address regional or national priority needs of State fish and wildlife agencies and their partners.
Funding for fishing or boating R3 activities is available through the Traditional MSCG track. Projects should focus on wildlife or sport fish research, habitat restoration, conservation, public use, and R3 efforts for fishing and boating. Eligible activities include research, surveys, assessments, habitat restoration and management, public education and outreach, and aquatic education programs.
Projects must align with the 2026 AFWA Strategic Priorities and benefit a majority of U.S. states, a majority of states within a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service region, or a majority of members of a regional fish and wildlife association.
