Grants Available to Support Cybersecurity Initiatives for State and Local Agencies Grants Available to Support Cybersecurity Initiatives for State and Local Agencies Deadline March 8th, 2024 The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is making available more than $9. 1 million in federal funding to support priority cybersecurity enhancements by municipalities and state agencies.
Municipalities and local governmental entities are invited to apply for the Municipal Local Cybersecurity Grant Program . State agencies can apply for funding through the State Share Cybersecurity Grant Program .
The purpose of these programs is support specific cybersecurity priority areas: development of a written cybersecurity incident response plan; tabletop exercises (TTX) involving cross-functional staff members, including senior leadership of the applicant to exercise, test, and refine written cyber incident response plans; cybersecurity awareness training; migration to the .
gov internet domain; and implementation of multi-factor authentication (MFA). The deadline to apply for both grant programs is March 8, 2024. Details on program specifics included below: Municipal Local Cybersecurity Grant Program A municipality or local entity (e.g., municipalities, regional school districts, regional water authorities) may apply as a single applicant for up to $100,000.
Multiple municipalities may partner together to apply for up to $300,000 (restrictions apply). A total of $7,289,717 has been made available for this grant program. Only a Massachusetts local unit of government (e.g., municipalities, regional school districts, regional water authorities) is eligible to apply under this grant program.

State Share Cybersecurity Grant Program A state agency is eligible to apply for up to $100,000 through this funding opportunity. A total of $1,822,429 is available for this grant program. Only a Massachusetts unit of state government (e.g., state agency, authority, or state institution of higher education) is eligible to apply under this grant program.
