Mural Grant Project is sponsored by Amarillo Parks & Recreation (City of Amarillo). This program aims to transform the city through vibrant public art by funding mural projects. While focused on murals, it contributes to public aesthetics, which can be an element of broader signage and wayfinding initiatives.

Mural Grant Project - City of Amarillo As part of the National Fitness Campaign, Amarillo Parks & Recreation is looking for digital artwork to be featured on its multipurpose training wall. Mural Grant Program Overview This program, offered by Amarillo Parks & Recreation’s Beautification and Public Arts Divisions , aims to transform our city through vibrant public art.

Your mural project can help us achieve shared goals to: Promote civic pride and unity Encourage tourism and cultural appreciation Grants are available to help fund murals that will leave a lasting impact on our community. Grant Period : Applications are open from October 15, 2025 to December 31, 2025 . Funding : Applicants may receive up to 50% reimbursement , with a maximum of $6,000 per mural in designated city areas.

A total of $30,000 is allocated for this fiscal year. Eligibility : Murals must be a minimum of 10 x 7 feet and located on income-producing properties. Application Process : Completed applications must be approved by the Beautification and Public Arts Advisory Board before any mural work begins.

Changes to this year’s application: All mural submissions must be original works created by the artist and not created by artificial intelligence. Applicants agree to indemnify the City if the mural violates any intellectual property laws or the rights of any third parties.

Applicants and their successors grant additional entities; such as, The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, The Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau, Center City Amarillo, the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation and any neighborhood association recognized under Chapter 4-12, to reproduce, distribute, or use in in any manner, funded murals, including photos and videos of funded murals, to promote the Mural Grant Program and the City of Amarillo.

City of Amarillo: Property Taxes Rebated Per Year by Agreement Type The chart shows the dollar amounts of property taxes rebated per year over the last five fiscal years, broken down by agreement type. There were no Chapter 380 property tax rebates in the first two years listed. The total amount increased slightly each year, with a more significant increase in the most recent year.
