The Texas Music Office administers the Music Education & Community Program Grant, often called the License Plate Grant, providing awards for music-related education and community programs sponsored by Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that meet program eligibility requirements. Grant awards range from $1,500 to $3,000 for an approved project period of up to 12 months.
The grant program is funded through sales of Texas Music specialty license plates. All proceeds from the sale of those plates go directly to fund the program. Purchase a Texas Music Plate Only Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply.

Texas Nonprofit Requirement- The applicant must be organized and based in Texas as a nonprofit entity and qualify as a 501(c)(3) organization. State Payee Identification Number- Applicants should be prepared to enter a 9-digit State Payee Identification Number, EIN, or Vendor ID to begin an application.
