## What is music therapy? “Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. ” (AMTA, 2010).
Music therapists work with people of all ages and diagnoses including, but not limited to, intellectual and developmental disabilities, Autism, mental health diagnoses, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, and much more. Music therapists work in many settings including private practices, hospitals, schools, mental health facililities, rehabiliation facitilies, and more.
