Our Projects — NASA Acres NASA Acres brings the value of satellite data down-to-Earth for U.S. agriculture through activities targeting seven impact areas. Learn about these impact areas and their supporting projects below. Cultivate a productive and trusting relationship between NASA and U.S. farmers, ranchers, and others contributing to the U.S. agrifood system.
User-Friendly, Privacy-Protecting Systems Foster innovative, powerful, and user-friendly systems for accessing and analyzing satellite data while protecting farmer data privacy and autonomy. Advance the quality and production of satellite-based agriculture mapping through defining, setting standards for, improving methods for, and producing “Essential Agriculture Variables” (EAVs).
Increased Understanding of U.S. Ag Increase our knowledge about the state, change, and outlook for productivity, profitability, sustainability, and resilience in U.S. agriculture, including a better understanding of the interplay between land management activities and outcomes. Co-developed, User-driven Tools Co-develop & transition satellite-based tools that empower farm to policy decisions.
Develop capacity in the current and future workforce to use satellite data to support agriculture.
