Empowering Lebanon Through Research & Development Advancing Knowledge, Driving Innovation Shaping the Future of Science in Lebanon Welcome to CNRS-L Lebanon Established in 1962, the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS-Lebanon) is the oldest national public institution entrusted with guiding and promoting scientific research in Lebanon.
It operates with administrative and financial autonomy, reporting to the Prime Minister. To draw up the national science and research policy, advise the government on scientific matters, and carry out surveys of ongoing research across Lebanon. Furthermore, CNRS-L initiates, encourages, and coordinates theoretical and applied scientific research in basic, social and behavioral sciences.
To position scientific research as a central pillar for Lebanon’s development. To keep the Lebanese scientific community connected with international progress while addressing national development needs. CNRS-L strives to foster collaboration and ensure that Lebanese research contributes to solving local and global challenges.
