What are the eligibility requirements for the programme? Must be between the ages of 25 and 35. Bachelor’s degree (health-related, IT, or social sciences).
Demonstrable interest/ or Experience in Public health OR health-related NGO and partner organisations OR community projects that demonstrate leadership and initiative. Candidates must be available to participate full-time in the fellowship programme. Candidates must be an indigene of the state being applied for.

In his determination to comprehensively upgrade existing primary healthcare centres and construct over 8,800 new primary healthcare centres across all local government areas in the country for accessible and qualitative healthcare delivery with the provision of new social accountability mechanisms, HE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the establishment of the National Health Fellows Programme, with young Nigerian fellows to be engaged in all the 774 local government areas in the country.
The fellowship programme is domiciled in the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) coordination office under the office of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. The fellows will be recruited, remunerated, and equipped with appropriate tools to drive positive change in the health sector.
