#### What grants were awarded previously? The National Park Service has awarded NAGPRA grants since 1994. See table of previous grant awards.
Grants awarded between 1994 were summarized in Journeys to Repatriation (August 2009). #### Section 10 of NAGPRA (25 U.S.C. 3008) (a) The Secretary is authorized to make grants to Indian tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations for the purpose of assisting such tribes and organizations in the repatriation of Native American cultural items.
(b) The Secretary is authorized to make grants to museums for the purpose of assisting the museums in conducting the inventories and identification required under sections 5 and 6 of this Act [25 U.S.C. 3003 and 3004]. Last updated: July 7, 2026 Thank you.

Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Grant Program is sponsored by U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) - National Park Service. This nationally competitive grant program, funded by the LWCF, enables urban communities to create new outdoor recreation spaces, reinvigorate existing parks, and form connections between people and the outdoors in economically underserved communities.
Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) State and Local Assistance Program is sponsored by U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) - National Park Service. The LWCF provides matching grants to state governments for the acquisition and development of public parks and other outdoor recreation sites.
