Navacord ACTION Grants is sponsored by Federation of Calgary Communities. Navacord ACTION Grants are small, barrier-free micro grants designed to support Federation member organizations in re-engaging with their residents.

Navacord Action Grants - Federation of Calgary Communities What are Navacord Action Grants? Navacord Action Grants (formerly Lloyd Sadd Action Grants) are small barrier free micro grants, up to $1,000 each, that are designed to help you re-engage with your residents, as you see fit. Recipients are selected randomly from all applications at our Action Grants Awards Night Event.

You must attend Awards Night to be eligible to receive an Action Grant. You can use an Action Grant for almost anything that you can think of as long as it benefits your community. It could be a long-standing need, a fun event, programming support or something else entirely!

*Applications open August 1, 2026 Action Grant Awards Night Hosted mid-November each year, Action Grants Awards Night is a special evening of sharing, networking, and awarding $7,000 in Navacord Action Grants! Everyone is welcome, but grant applicants must attend the Awards Night event to be eligible.

To be eligible for a Navacord Action Grant, Organizations must: Be a member of the Federation of Calgary Communities Submit an application with an ask up to $1,000 Attend our Awards Night Event Agree to submit photos, a short story of impact and your reciepts (if your organization wins) Anything is possible! This grant aims to reduce barriers and help our members engage their community.

You may only submit one application per year, and your “ask” must be $1,000 or less. All eligible submissions will be equally considered. Winners will be selected by random draw at the Awards Event.

2. Attend our Awards Night event All grant applicants MUST attend the awards event to be eligible for a chance to win! Applicants are automatically registered for this event, but everyone is welcome to attend.

Event details below. 3. Share, network and make community connections Enjoy a chance to connect with your peers and explore different ways to connect with your community.

Multiple winners will be drawn randomly from all eligible entries at the event. We have $7,000 to grant to communities. All Federation members are welcome to attend Awards night, even if they have not applied for an Action Grant.

All winners will be selected on Awards Night, and receive a formal notification email within 7 days of the event. Yes. Only active paid members are eligible for this grant opportunity. Do I need to attend Awards Night?

If your organization applied for a Navacord Action Grant, a representative of your organization MUST be present at the Awards Night event for your organization to be eligible for the grant. Any representative can attend Awards Night on your organization’s behalf. Whomever attends should be prepared to share who your organization is, and what you applied for.

What can we use an Action Grant for? The magic of Navacord Action Grants is that you can use the $1,000 in any way that engages or supports your community. Check out these ideas from past applicants .

How do you select grant recipients? There is no grant committee. We do not evalutate applications beyond the above eligibility requirements.

Recipients are randomly selected from all eligible applications at our Awards Night event. Our amazing grant sponsor, Navacord, believes that every community’s request is important. We didn't apply.

Can we still attend Awards Night? Yes! Awards Night is open to all Federation Members, and is a great opportunity to connect, network and build community outside of your organization.
