Scholarships and grants support college and graduate studies, vocational training, tutoring, test preparation, and quality schooling regardless of duty station.

Our transition programs equip service members and spouses with the planning, counseling, and credentials needed for meaningful careers after service. We also fund certifications, licenses, and advanced learning that translate military expertise into civilian qualifications across industries. Together, these initiatives reflect our belief that education strengthens the future of every person in the community.

Our merit-based scholarships reduce the cost of higher education and vocational training for service members, veterans, spouses, and children, opening doors that might otherwise be out of reach. By easing tuition burdens, recipients focus on learning, pursue degrees and certifications, and graduate with less financial strain.

The program expands opportunity, accelerates career progress, and improves family stability, helping the NSW community build skills that endure well beyond active duty. We provide targeted academic grants that remove barriers and expand opportunities for NSW families during and after military service.

By covering the costs of test preparation and exam fees for the GRE, MCAT, LSAT, and GMAT, we help active duty members pursue advanced education and long-term professional goals. For those stationed in remote locations, we fund private tuition, tutoring, and home-based learning support to ensure children receive quality schooling regardless of duty station.

We equip NSW personnel and their families with the tools and guidance needed to navigate life beyond active duty with confidence and clarity. Through partnerships with top-tier organizations, we provide career counseling, college and test preparation, and financial aid advising to support academic and professional advancement.

These programs help service members translate military experience into recognized skills and credentials, enabling meaningful civilian careers and long-term stability. We fund professional certifications, licenses, and executive education for NSW service members, veterans, and families to accelerate civilian careers.

This program supports preparation in fields such as business, technology, healthcare, aviation, maritime, and skilled trades. Whether pursuing medical qualifications, pilot or maritime pathways, leadership training, or other vocations, participants gain skills that translate military experience into marketable expertise and open multiple doors.

Apply for Educational Support Use the Tabs Below to Apply Test Preparation Assistance * Scholarship Opportunities Remote Location Private School Scholarship Test Preparation Assistance The Navy SEAL Foundation provides test preparation assistance for SAT/ ACT courses or support for graduate school tests (GRE/MCAT/LSAT/GMAT).

Through this program, the Navy SEAL Foundation pays directly or up to $300 in test preparation costs or to take the exams. NSF pays directly or up to $300 for test preparation or to take the exams; examples include the GRE/MCAT/LSAT/GMAT. This program is open year-round.

See the scholarship FAQs button below for specific cycle eligibility requirements and additional scholarship information. NSF 2026 Scholarship Cycle One: Opens Tuesday, January 6 and closes promptly at 11:59 p. m.

ET on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 (Applications Closed) NSF 2026 Scholarship Cycle Two: Opens Monday, June 1 and closes promptly at 11:59 p. m. ET on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 NSF scholarships are intended to provide our community with opportunities to expand their educational pursuits.

Scholarships can be used for vocational, certificate, licensure, and post-secondary programs, such as Bachelors or Associates Degrees, and may also include graduate degree scholarship opportunities for qualifying applicants. Remote Location Private School Scholarship Active Duty SEAL and SWCC families who: Are stationed in Hawaii, Guam, Stennis, Kodiak, or Tampa may apply.

Have children who are eligible to attend Kindergarten within their respective state through 12th grade may apply for assistance with one (1) of the following programs: Private School Tuition, Supplemental Tutoring or Homeschool Scholarship. Or have children eligible for Pre-K may apply. The child must be enrolled in a certified Pre-K program to prepare the child for Kindergarten the following school year.

The Pre-K scholarship does NOT cover daycare. Educational scholarships DO NOT cover before or after school care. Pre-K Private School Scholarships: Award amounts are 50% of the annual tuition up to a maximum amount of $4,000 per school year, per child.

The child must be old enough to attend Kindergarten within their respective state the following school year. Kindergarten-12th-grade Private School Scholarships: Award amounts are 70% of the annual tuition up to a maximum amount of $7,000 per school year, per child. When your application is submitted in full, it will be reviewed and approved by the Foundation’s Programs team.

The Navy SEAL Foundation evaluates all applications based on eligibility. Once the application is approved and all follow-up paperwork is received, Private School Scholarship funding is paid directly to the school before the commencement of the Fall semester. If you already receive financial aid for your child, you may want to ensure that receipt of this scholarship does not affect the awarded amount from the school.

You will need to upload a tuition statement from the school that shows the annual tuition amount. Scholarship funding covers tuition only; it does not cover associated costs for uniforms, books, school fees, etc. Supplemental Tutoring Scholarships: Award amounts for 50% coverage of tutoring expenses up to a maximum amount of $2,500 per calendar year, per child. Applications for tutoring coverage are open year round.

However, a new application must be submitted every calendar year for review and approval. Kindergarten-12th Grade Homeschool Scholarships: Award amounts are 50% reimbursement of the approved expenses related to curriculum, annual testing and membership for professional homeschooling organizations up to a maximum amount of $2,500 per academic year, per child.

Homeschool Scholarship reimbursements are paid directly to the Homeschool provider once an application is submitted (with payment receipts), reviewed, and approved. The Navy SEAL Foundation evaluates all applications based on eligibility.

The Navy SEAL Foundation offers this annual scholarship opportunity to support timely educational needs that may arise for eligible applicants pursuing a certificate and license. Eligible applicants can apply for either a traditional scholarship or certificate and license opportunity annually, not both.

Active Duty SEAL and SWCC and their spouse SEAL and SWCC Retiree (over 20 years AD service or medically) spouses NSF supports 75% of the cost toward a certificate or license up to a maximum amount of $3,000.
