The Nebius Research Grants Program provides academic researchers with free access to Nebius AI Cloud GPU infrastructure, Token Factory inference tokens, and Tavily agentic search engine credits, removing the compute barrier for computationally intensive AI, machine learning, data analytics and HPC projects.
Applications are open for the 2026-2027 academic year, with reviews taking place during summer 2026 and notifications expected between late Q3 and early Q4 2026. Rather than publishing a fixed award size, Nebius sizes each allocation individually against the compute plan in the proposal, which makes the program viable both for a single postdoc fine-tuning open models and for a lab pre-training at larger scale.
Selection criteria emphasize a clear academic or scientific focus with defined objectives, innovative use of GPU resources, demonstrated feasibility and potential impact, a transparent resource utilization plan, a team with relevant research experience, and willingness to publicly acknowledge Nebius support. Recipients are also offered co-marketing exposure through the Nebius. Science channel.
The program is distinct from Nebius AI Lift, which serves venture-stage startups rather than academic groups.
