The Hugh and Herbert Hoffman ALS Impact Fund The Hugh and Herbert Hoffman ALS Impact Fund Needs Focused Grant Program for Clinics Description: The ALS Association’s Clinic Program Needs Focused Grant initiative serves to support our strategic priorities of increasing access to multidisciplinary care and reducing barriers to utilization.

This grant opportunity is specifically designed to address a clinic’s short or immediate-term need; where financial support will make a difference in continuing the ALS clinic at the level of a Certified Treatment Center of Excellence™ or Recognized Treatment Center™. The number of grants is dependent upon the ALS Association’s budget allocation for this program.

The maximum grant value is $25,000 per grantee; however, the amount of any grant will be determined based on demonstrated need. The application period for the 2026 cycle is May 1, 2026 through June 12, 2026.

The Hoffman ALS Clinic Development Awards Program Description: The goal of the Hoffman ALS Clinic Development Awards Program is to provide greater access to multidisciplinary care by supporting clinic capacity development and expansion through: The establishment of new ALS Certified Treatment Centers of Excellence and Recognized Treatment Centers to address underserved and unserved communities, or The elevation of existing affiliated clinics to the level of an ALS Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence or Recognized Treatment Center Funding: To establish a new ALS Certified Treatment Center of Excellence or Recognized Treatment Center, awardees will receive up to $900,000, spread out over three years.

All payments are milestone-based. To evolve an existing clinic to an ALS Certified Treatment Center of Excellence or Recognized Treatment Center, awardees will receive up to $450,000, spread out over three years. All payments are milestone-based.

The application period for 2025 has closed. The Hoffman ALS Clinic Capacity Awards Program Description: The purpose of this program is to increase access to and utilization of multidisciplinary care by supporting the addition of ALS-specific clinic days or developing/increasing access to telehealth services or other remote clinic approaches. Funding: $360,000 over three years.
