Neighborhood Action Plan (NAP) Grant Program is sponsored by City of Danville. The NAP grant program empowers communities within the City of Danville to identify and address local needs and challenges, fostering self-determination and collaboration among residents.

Neighborhood groups must have at least five (5) members Groups should be established or in the process of establishment Neighborhood boundaries are first come first served If a group claims certain streets/intersections, another group cannot claim those later Groups may be combined in the future If a group is granted a NAP, funding applications for specific goals outlined in the NAP must be submitted separately Groups with an existing NAP can use the same application to apply for the funding of a specific goal outlined in their NAP.

Funding is limited to the following: No more than $10,000 will be granted to any single group per fiscal year Funding by submission of relevant invoices to the Community Development department All projects must be completed by December 31 of the year for funding to be granted Extensions may be granted by request and approval of the Division Director of Planning Appropriate NAP Funded Projects: Private playground equipment for the benefit of the neighborhood Community beautification projects Neighborhood signage (within zoning restrictions) Prohibited Uses of NAP Funds: Individual interest including repair of private homeowners’ property, structures, or other buildings Improvement or changes to City owned parks, land, rights-of-way, or buildings Projects outside of the boundaries designated in the NAP as the “Neighborhood” Fundraising or lobbying for political campaigns Should a group be found to use NAP funds inappropriately, the following repercussions may be enforced: Reimbursement of funds to the City Special terms and conditions on future grants The start of 2026 was met with two local communities receiving grant funding to create NAPs and one community to receive funding of an existing NAP.

The North Main Vissionaries and Friends of the Old West End will be working to create NAPs for their neighborhoods over the next several months. The Almagro Community Council has an existing NAP and has received grant funding to improve their community center. Government Websites by CivicPlus®
