Rebuild. In March, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut launched United Way Neighbors in Need , our local COVID-19 response fund, to assist individuals and families in central and northeastern Connecticut with food; emergency assistance; and, childcare. A total of $572,000 was awarded to 46 nonprofit organizations in the three rounds of grants, helping 8,000 individuals .
