Homeowner Loans - NeighborWorks Housing Solutions Homeowner Loans & Resources NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS) has offered housing rehabilitation grants and loans to homeowners since 1981. These resources provide funding support to single and multi-family homeowners with specific and pressing needs such as eliminating substandard living conditions, removing lead, and modifying homes for people with disabilities.
Emergency grants are used to address sanitary code violations, energy conservation goals, and incipient violations. Please note: Each loan and/or emergency grant has specific and different requirements. We work with you to determine eligibility and the right loan or emergency grant program for you.

These loans provide capital for fixing things like stairs, porches, and decks. These loans are location specific.

Any home improvement loan will require a bidding process and the NHS-partnered construction manager will assist the owner throughout the rehab process.
Funding for these loans comes from a variety of sources: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Quincy’s HUD-funded HOME Program , NeighborWorks® America , MA state funds, foundation grants, and various financial institutions.
