Nell J. Redfield Foundation - Charitable giving in Northern Nevada Engaging in a program of charitable giving focused on education, healthcare and helping those most in need.
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to encourage creative collaboration by agencies that specifically specialize in providing services to those struggling with education, health care, homelessness, housing insecurity, and/or poverty to work in partnership on a new innovative initiative. A limited number of one-year Innovation Grants of up to $25,000 are available in 2025.

Redfield Foundation was organized by Nell J. Redfield on November 13, 1974 to provide a vehicle for charitable giving to the causes of healthcare, education, medical research, care for needy children and women, and the homeless. Among many qualification requirements, the Foundation makes grants to qualified, tax-exempt charitable organizations located in Washoe County, Nevada.

Learn What Happens Next Prospective grantees will be advised within the 30 days the regular quarterly meeting at which their grant application was considered by the Board. During her lifetime, Nell made a significant impact on her local community. Through the implementation of her mission, that impact is carried on today.

What to Know Before Applying In order for a grant request to be considered, written applications must be received by the Foundation at its Reno office at least ten (10) days before a regularly scheduled quarterly meeting of the Board. We require a comprehensive written application that demonstrates your organization's mission, planning, and management. See what information is needed.
Prospective grantees will be notified within thirty days of their application being considered whether their request was granted by the Foundation Board. Learn more about our Approval Process.
