This will better allow school officials, community members, and policy makers to use school finance data in tandem with other already available education data including enrollment, environment, and performance data, to make strategic decisions to influence desired outcomes. New Hampshire seeks to utilize this grant to accomplish three objectives.
* Revamp the NH Chart of Accounts and Improve Data Standardization * Build Robust and Flexible Financial Data Collection System * Better Integrate and Increase Depth of Finance Analytical Tools **New Hampshire Department of Education SLDS Grant** **Project Director:** Nathan Valance **Amount Awarded:** $3,249,980 **Project Abstract**97 KB * Infrastructure Priority * The NHDOE seeks SLDS grant funding through the infrastructure priority to support these projects/improvements: * Purchase and deploy a Statewide Student Information System (SSIS).
* Adopt the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) model and deploy the Generate tool. * Expand iPlatform functionality, a Tableau-based, self-service analytics portal. **Using SLDS Data to Transform Education and Student Outcomes** **Project Director:** Scott Mantie **Amount Awarded:** $4,989,391 **Project Application**16.

This system will support policy, management, and funding decisions at the state and local levels.
* Enhancements to a longitudinal data system specifically designed for teachers. This spring, when New Hampshire launches the Follow The Child Assistance Center, all teachers in the state will be able to analyze results of state assessments, as well as locally selected assessments.
This grant will expand the system to allow teachers to create their own assessments, set benchmarks, and follow the growth of individual students, and to access a shared library of curriculum and lesson plan resources with built-in links to the State's grade level expectations. With its specific focus on each child, the Follow The Child Assistance Center will be the teachers' longitudinal data warehouse.
Districts will be able to manage secure access for their staff and the parents of their students. Teacher training will be partially subsidized by the grant. * P-16 Collaboration on a Data Model.
This grant will assist the NH Department of Education, the University System of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Community Technical College System to develop plans to connect P-12 data and higher education data about students and educators. This will lay the foundation for a P-16 longitudinal data system.
