We appreciate the work you do to strengthen our community.
The New Jersey Natural Gas Charity is dedicated to supporting the communities we serve to make the world a better place. Through strategic partnerships and activities, charitable giving and in-kind donations, and a robust employee giving program, we have built a strong framework of holistic and purpose-driven investments in our diverse communities.
We evaluate all requests for financial assistance from established 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that are located within and/or benefit residents within our service territory. This includes most of Monmouth and Ocean counties, as well as parts of Morris, Middlesex, Burlington and Sussex Counties.
Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis but must be received at least 8 weeks prior to an event, if the request is in connection with an event. The evaluation period can range between 8 to 12 weeks. Applications will be reviewed using the following criteria: Organization must be an Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) approved 501c3 Public Charity, as defined under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Organization or program is based in or benefits residents within NJNG’s service territory The events, organizations, programs or projects should align with NJNG business or charitable focus areas: A detailed description of the program and its anticipated impact in the community is requested. Also, provide information about any collaborative efforts with other organizations.
(Qualified organizations that receive funding may be asked to provide a report that details the final results or community benefits realized from any specific program, project or initiative.)
The following are not eligible for NJNG Charity funding: Requests and events benefiting specific individuals or individual causes Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns Organizations with a primary purpose of influencing legislation Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or religion Athletic, labor or fraternal groups Recreation or sports organization and events Regional or national organizations without a local chapter If your request aligns with the stated focus and mission of the NJNG Charity, please provide the information requested below.
