nj. gov Grant Overview : The Women and Minorities in Construction Trades Program (WMIC) seeks to eliminate economic barriers commonly associated with an individual’s inability to invest in skills training and work readiness and connect minority group members and women to quality career and training opportunities in the building and construction industry.
This grant program provides women and minority participants with training to prepare them for placement into Registered Apprenticeships or full-time, long-term employment in the construction industry or building and construction trades occupations and provides quality support services to ensure successful placement and retention in employment.
Funding from this grant announcement shall be used to support training in the building and construction trades, including clean energy and lead abatement occupations. Occupations within the construction industry including craft, administrative, support, or operational occupations are acceptable. This includes professional titles as well as skilled trades.

nj. gov Grant Overview : The Cultivating Access, Rights, & Equity (CARE) Grant Program provides community-centered, culturally relevant, and language specific programming. CARE aims to reach workers who need increased access to their work rights, and employers who require information about their obligations and compliance.
The CARE grant program helps community organizations and agencies build capacity to share critical information on work rights and benefits with diverse employees and employers across industries.
Focus populations include low-wage workers, workers of color, immigrants, women, refugees, survivors of domestic/sexual violence, young workers, temporary workers, domestic workers, small and immigrant-owned businesses, and other employers that need helpful resources and assistance.
The CARE Grant Program seeks to establish collaborative relationships with trusted community-based organizations throughout the state who demonstrate capacity, experience, and a history of success providing outreach, education, technical assistance and/or support. Public and private nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, state-recognized tribal governments with 501(c)(3) status, and government entities may apply.

Name of Contract Program : Adult Paid Internship Fiscal Year of Grant Program : FY2026 Purpose of This Contract Program : The purpose of this contract program is to provide Paid Internships beginning October 1, 2025, and will conclude no later than September 30, 2026, to individuals with disabilities ages 18 and over who are: Officially separated or graduated from secondary education program Considered “Work Ready” by DVRS assessment and/or by DVRS counselor Have completed SSA Benefits Counseling (for SSA Benefits Recipients) Seeking competitive integrated employment The objective of this program is to provide DVRS consumers with opportunities to gain real work experience, develop the skills needed to be successful in their chosen field, gain industry insight, develop networking opportunities, increase employability, gain mentorship opportunities, and build confidence by demonstrating their ability to thrive in a professional environment.
Through this contract, NJDVRS is seeking providers who will serve as the “Employer of Record” for the consumers participating in the internship. It is expected that the “Employer of Record” will provide brief “onboarding” at the start of the internship as well as attend a staffing meeting upon conclusion of the internship.
Other responsibilities of the Employer of Record include the following: Distribute funds to the DVR Consumer/Employee in accordance with the payroll schedule Maintain Worker’s Compensation Insurance for the DVR Consumer/Employee Withhold all applicable taxes and deposit all taxes withheld to the appropriate taxing authority Resolve paycheck issues that may arise with the DVR Consumer/Employee Assist with any background checks if needed by the employer/ internship provider The paid internships will be at least 10 hours per week and up to $25.

gov Name of Grant Program : Woman and Minority Veterans in Construction Trades Program Fiscal Year of Grant Program : FY2026 Funding Amount : $1,500,000 Purpose for Which Funds will be Used : The Women and Minority Veterans in Construction Trades Program (WMVIC) seeks to eliminate economic barriers commonly associated with an individual’s inability to invest in skills training and work readiness and connect women veterans and/or minority veterans that are National Guard, Reserve, retired and transitioning active-duty military members to quality career and training opportunities in the building and construction industry.
This grant program provides women veterans and minority veterans with training to prepare them for placement in Registered Apprenticeship programs and/or full-time, long-term employment in construction industry or building and construction trades occupations and provides quality support services to ensure successful placement and retention in employment.
Funding from this grant announcement shall be used to support training in the construction and building trades. Any construction craft or administrative, support, or operational occupations are acceptable. This includes professional titles as well as skilled trades.
This targeted, competitive opportunity is designed to provide funding to eligible organizations to provide construction trades training, placement services and quality support services to women veterans and/or minority veterans in accordance with the NGO.
Entities That Can Apply for Funding Under This NGO : The following organizations are eligible to apply as the lead applicant: Any employer based in New Jersey or with a New Jersey presence; Workforce Intermediary Sponsors ; Employer / Trade Associations; Any labor organization which represents workers in the occupation for which the apprentices will be trained; Labor/Management Partnership (public or private ); New Jersey Local Education Agency (LEA ); Public vocational schools within New Jersey; Public high schools within New Jersey; Two- and four-year institutions of higher education; Public or private non-profit organizations (including Community Based Organizations ); Business or trade organizations representing a particular trade, group of trades, contractors or employers; Community-based organizations; New Jersey local Workforce Development Boards; Economic development organizations; State, Local, County governments within New Jersey; Faith-based organizations; and Any other private educational or training entity that is on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL).
NOTE: Organizations awarded contracts from FY2025 Women and Minorities in Construction Round 1 are not eligible to apply. FY2026 WMVIC application is open to those eligible organizations that did not receive NJBUILD funding in FY2025 and to new applicants.
