In some cases, these disorders can cause death if not diagnosed and treated early. No federal laws regulate newborn blood spot screening programs. Each state adopts its own screening laws, establishes screening policies and procedures, and operates its own screening program.
Therefore, the number of conditions that states screen for varies widely. Wyoming newborn screening is governed by W. S.
