Requests for Proposals | NEx Request for Proposals (RFPs) for 2027 Projects There are currently no open Requests for Proposals (RFPs). New RFPs are anticipated to be issued in July/August 2026. NEx will impose a limit of 15% on indirect costs (overhead) by proposing organizations for any project it funds.
The organization must waive the remainder of the indirect costs. All proposals will be evaluated by the NEx Steering Committee. A winning proposal will be forwarded to the NEx Board of Directors with recommendations for funding.

NEx Announces Funding for New Projects May 12, 2022 (Closed May 31, 2022) NEx: An ACI Center of Excellence for Nonmetallic Building Materials is happy to announce sponsorship of new research projects. The new research projects are as follows: Improvement of inferior proprieties of aggregates in construction with the use of hydrocarbon derivative chemicals. Enhance the use of carbon fibers in civil infrastructure.
Investigate high dosage of admixtures on concrete durability and cost to reduce cement content and water-cement ratio with a control concrete mix design. Develop design and selection guidelines for NM pultruded structures. NEx invites proposals for any of these projects.
