Nexstar Media Group, Inc. | Our Foundation The Nexstar Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and non-profit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar and its subsidiaries do business. The forerunner of the foundation was originally established in 1958; it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
From fighting food insecurity, supporting our vets, and promoting diversity in media and entertainment, our Foundation is proud to help support a variety of organizations throughout the U.S. Contributions made in 2025 include: Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in Philadelphia, PA: dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley in Rock Island, IL: makes meaningful, orchestrated matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 18, throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Food 2 Kids in Lubbock, TX: sends nutritious shelf-stable bags of food home with children each Friday so children can come to school ready to learn on Monday morning.
Currently serving 2,250 children and youth. Armed Services YMCA San Diego in San Diego, CA: enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs and services relevant to the unique challenges of military life. More than 30 Nexstar television stations, led by WDKY-TV in Lexington, KY, participated in a ten-day fundraising drive to assist victims affected by the recent flooding that has devastated eastern Kentucky.
The participating stations collectively raised more than $300,000 for the effort, capped off with a $25,000 donation from the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation to the Kentucky Flood Relief Fund of the Christian Appalachian Project (CAP). The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and the KELOLAND Media Group presented a check to the Special Olympics of South Dakota.

Hands on Nashville and The Community Resource Center each received a contribution on behalf of WKRN-TV in Nashville, TN. WGN-TV’s Dina Bair presents a check to Christal Stinson, Area Development Director at the Chicago Chapter of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Nexstar’s “Remarkable Women” winner, Fonda Bryant, has been very active in the fight against suicide prevention.
She asked that her $5,000 charitable contribution from Nexstar be divided between three organizations: Wellness Action Recovery, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
