The grant is administered by the Orange County Neighborhood Services Division and funded with County general revenue funds. Projects delivered to seniors and individuals with disabilities and households in very low to moderate-income areas may be given special consideration. Grants may be awarded in amounts not to exceed $20,000 per applicant.

Only one (1) project per applicant may be funded at a single time. Applications are accepted year-round, processed quarterly, and awarded as funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible applicants must be an active charitable or religious nonprofit organizations that are tax exempt under 26 U.S.C.

§ 501(c)(3) and have operated for at least two years.

Your eligible projects must provide minor, exterior repairs, or modifications to owner-occupied, single-family homes with homestead exemptions in unincorporated Orange County.

Eligible projects may include: Minor exterior home repairs Gutter cleaning and repair Painting or pressure washing Door, window, shutter, fascia, soffit, or trim repair or replacement Materials needed to complete the project Other approved exterior home modification projects Grant funds cannot be used for interior repairs, major construction, roof repair, plumbing, air conditioning repair, food and beverages, mileage reimbursement, existing programs, ongoing projects, or expenses not approved in the project budget.

Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding. To be considered for the next fiscal quarter, applications must be received by 5:00 p.

m. on the second Thursday in September, December, or March. Applications are reviewed by the Orange County Neighborhood Services Division for: County staff may contact applicants about missing information, attachments, or budget details. Qualified applications are reviewed by the Neighborhood Grants Advisory Board, which makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval.

Applicants will be notified in writing of the final funding decision within five business days after review by the Board of County Commissioners. Only one project per nonprofit may be funded at a single time. Funding is awarded as available on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed. What types of homes may benefit from this grant?

Grant funds may be used for owner-occupied, single-family homes with homestead exemptions in unincorporated Orange County that have not benefited from the program within the last two (2) years. Homes must need minor, exterior repairs or minor modifications and be in a reasonable state of repair. Can grant funds be used for tools, equipment, or materials?

Tools and equipment for the approved project are subject to manager review. Materials needed to complete the approved project may be eligible. These expenses may not exceed 25% of the grant award amount.

What costs are not eligible? Grant funds cannot be used for the following items, but not limited to: Landscaping and gardening Mileage or gas reimbursement Currently existing programs or ongoing projects Expenses not approved in the project budget How long do grant recipients have to complete a project? Projects must be completed within 12 months of entering into the grant agreement.
