Monday July 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) The Kentucky of Homeland Security (KOHS) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP).
These federal funds are made available through the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS-FEMA). The NSGP provides funding for physical security enhancements and other security-related activities to faith-based and other nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist attack due to their ideology, beliefs, or mission. This is a reimbursement grant.
If selected for funding, the nonprofit must pay for approved equipment and services first then request reimbursement. Links to all guidance and application materials are listed below. For those FFY 26 NSGP potential applicants who applied for the FFY 25 NSGP award, unfortunately FEMA has not made award determinations for FFY 25 but have communicated that they will soon. If organizations choose, they can apply again on the FFY 26 Investment Justification (IJ) for the same project submissions that were submitted on the FFY 25 IJ submission that FEMA is currently reviewing.
If your organization receives a FFY 25 award prior to the deadline for KOHS to submit the FFY 26 IJ’s to FEMA, KOHS will notify your point of contact and we’ll pull back that submission. When emailing your 2026 IJ to KOHS, please note in the subject line of your email “Submitted for 25” so we know it’s a previously submitted project. Your 2025 project information must be submitted on a FFY 26 IJ to be considered for 2026 NSGP funding.
FEMA will only review FFY 2026 IJ forms.
