Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) is sponsored by Washington State Military Department. Offers funding for physical and cybersecurity enhancements and other security-related activities to eligible nonprofit organizations at high risk of terrorist or other extremist attacks.

Grants NSGP Application Details | Washington State Military Department Nonprofit Security Grant Program The following information is applicable to all potential Washington state applicants interested in applying for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. The FY26 NSGP Application Period is now open! Nonprofit seeking to apply for funding consideration must submit their applications no later than 11:59PM, July 7, 2026.

About the Nonprofit Security Grant Program NSGP provides funding support for target hardening and other physical security enhancements and activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist or other extremist attack. The intent is to integrate nonprofit preparedness activities with broader state and local preparedness efforts.

It is also designed to promote coordination and collaboration in emergency preparedness activities among public and private community representatives, as well as state and local government agencies. Organizations must meet the following eligibility criteria: Be registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or otherwise described under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and tax-exempt under section 501(a) of the IRC.

Demonstrate, through the application, that the organization is at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack, and Must complete a Notice of Intent form to have their application considered for funding. * * - Additional Washington state requirement. A NOI must be received by June 30, 2026 to be eligible to submit a full FY26 NSGP application.

** - Submitting the Mission Statement on the nonprofit organization’s letterhead is preferred if one is available. Vulnerability Assessments All application submissions must include an up-to-date Vulnerability Assessment. Assessments completed within the last three years at the time of application.

To complete this requirement, you may: Contact your local law enforcement office to conduct an assessment. Important Note: Nonprofits will need to contact their local law enforcement agencies to find out if the agency has the capability to complete a security assessment. Alternatively, you may use CISA’s Houses of Worship Security Self-Assessment .
