Norco Community and Economic Development Funds | Greater New Orleans Foundation Norco Community and Economic Development Funds To support nonprofit organizations that address social and economic issues at the local level and work to increase the capacity of the Norco community and its residents.
The Norco Community and Economic Development Funds, Donor Advised Funds held at The Greater New Orleans Foundation, were formed as a result of a six-million-dollar gift to the Norco community from Shell. The purpose of these funds is to improve the quality of life, both socially and economically, of people in Norco. The Funds will only consider support for programs that serve the Norco community and its residents.
Priority is given to organizations and programs that are located in the Norco community. Grant applications are reviewed once a year by an advisory committee of business and civic leaders. Norco Community Fund (NCF) NCF g rants generally range from $5,000 to $20,000.
Grants may be larger or smaller. Services for Children and Youth to empower young people in Norco to be active participants and/or leaders in the life of the community. Out of School time activities for youth including sports or other non-athletic opportunities Services for Older Adults to ensure older adults in Norco are connected to beneficial services.
Opportunities to increase access to services for older adults, including transportation Support for residential care and community-based facilities aimed at developing a friendly home-like environment, including senior centers, adult day programs, and other facilities Social Services to support all Norco community members, individuals and/or families in meeting their basic needs.
High quality and well-coordinated social services related to crisis management and treatment, intake assessment and screening, and early intervention Provide families and individuals with comprehensive, wrap-around services through strong referral networks and shared practices Norco Economic Development Fund (NEDF) NEDF grants generally range from $10,000 to $50,000. Grants may be larger or smaller.
The goals of the NEDF are to increase the success and competitiveness of Norco-based business and therefore enhance prosperity and quality of life for the Norco community. Community Support for Local Businesses.
Opportunities for nonprofits to host community events that feature and support Norco businesses Opportunities for nonprofits to host community building and cleanup days for public spaces in Norco Opportunities for nonprofits that raise awareness of Norco businesses. Job Creation/Training Needs/Workforce Development to position members of the Norco Community to be well positioned for economically vibrant careers.
Job skills training, career planning, in or before high school Transportation supports to increase access to job training Programs that promote job retention and career advancement. Improve coordination and communication between industries and programs that offer training. Organizations may apply to both Funds, but will need to submit separate applications.
If you have further questions about this fund, please email grants@gnof. org If a grant is awarded, the funded organization will be asked to submit both fiscal accounting and narrative reports on the use of its grant and the impact that the grant may have had on the community it serves. A site visit may also be requested during the grant period.
Reports will be due ten months from the award date and will be submitted via the online portal .
