NWFL | Community | Grants Power to Care | NWFL grants Supporting Northwest Florida Communities We’re helping to further the mission of nonprofits across the Panhandle. Northwest Florida community grants NextEra Energy Foundation partners with and invests in nonprofit organizations throughout Northwest Florida. We aim to build strong communities, improving the lives of our customers through innovation, opportunity and safety.
Located within or serve at least one county inside FPL Northwest Florida’s service area: Serve the community without discriminating on the basis of age, race, gender, sexual orientation or religion. Are a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Have not received or applied for a quarterly grant within the past 12 months.
Quarterly grants awarded range from $1,000 – $20,000, depending on available funds and a variety of evaluation factors. Applicants are notified whether they have been awarded a grant 6-8 weeks after the deadline. Funds are then dispersed within 45 days of notification.
(Timeline is subject to change depending on unforeseeable natural disasters that impact our area.) Please provide all requested documentation when you submit your grant application. Failure to do so may result in your request being automatically declined.

Deadlines for each grant cycle: We recently supported Gulf Coast Turtle Watch Inc. to enhance the Pensacola Beach nonprofit's ability to save and rehabilitate sick and injured sea turtles by facilitating the purchase of a new transport van.
This van will be essential in quickly and safely transporting sea turtles to the Gulfarium rehab center in Fort Walton Beach, 45 minutes away, improving the response time and care provided to these vulnerable creatures.
