Nuclear Fund Project Database Nuclear Fund Project Database The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) is committed to an open and transparent government. This searchable database is designed to better assist the public in accessing project data for the Nuclear Energy Supply Chain Investment Fund. The Nuclear Energy Fund was created in 2023 by Governor Bill Lee and approved by the Tennessee General Assembly.

The $70 million fund aims to expand the state’s nuclear development and manufacturing ecosystem by providing grants and assistance to support nuclear energy business investment, workforce development programs, and site development across Tennessee. TRISO-X is expanding its advanced nuclear fuel manufacturing campus in Oak Ridge with a second commercial fuel fabrication facility and a dedicated R&D center.

The project will create more than 1,100 jobs and invest nearly $1. 2 billion, further cementing Tennessee’s leadership in advanced nuclear fuel manufacturing. Once complete, the campus will be among the world’s largest commercial producers of HALEU TRISO fuel, strengthening the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain and supporting the deployment of next-generation reactors.

Centrus plans to create nearly 430 new jobs and invest more than $560 million in Anderson County over the next several years to support both the growth in workforce and investment in the production of thousands of advanced centrifuges for nuclear enrichment. LIS Technologies is committing to invest nearly $1. 4 billion and create 203 jobs in Oak Ridge.

Upon completion, the Oak Ridge facility, which will locate on the historic K-25 uranium enrichment site, is intended to become the first U.S.-origin commercial laser uranium enrichment plant in the world, supporting U.S. utilities, next-generation reactor developers and national defense requirements while helping to reestablish a resilient domestic nuclear fuel supply chain.

Radiant is committing to a $280 million investment that will expand the company’s nuclear manufacturing and research and development (R&D) to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Through the project, Radiant will create 175 new jobs in Roane County that will directly support the development and mass production of Radiant’s Kaleidos.

Upon completion of the facility, this machine will be the world’s first one-megawatt portable nuclear generator capable of generating power in remote areas and providing resilient power options for military bases or disaster-relief scenarios.

BWXT Enrichment Operations, LLC BWXT will create 198 jobs and invest $122 million in Erwin, Tennessee, at its Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. facility, as it grows its capabilities in support of national defense needs. Nuclear Fuel Services has operated in Erwin since the 1950s and manufactures nuclear fuel material for naval reactors used in U.S. submarines and aircraft carriers. Oklo Inc will invest $1.

68 billion to establish a reactor and fuel recycling facility and a high performance fuel manufacturing and research center in Oak Ridge. This project will create 812 new jobs. Oklo is a clean power technology company on a mission to develop, own, and operate nuclear energy production facilities that produce reliable, affordable, clean energy at a global scale.

The estimated value of 166. 31 acres at the Heritage Center in Oak Ridge. The state of Tennessee working with the City of Oak Ridge, intend to facilitate the acquisition and transfer of the property to Oklo Inc pending General Service Administration and Department of Energy approvals.

Master Machine will invest $11. 7 million to expand their existing facility and create 44 jobs. Master Machine specializes in system design and manufacturing primarily for nuclear-focused industries.

BWXT Enrichment Operations, LLC Tennessee Tech University Supports Tennessee Tech’s start-up of a new Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering program in their College of Engineering by funding 2-year total cost for three critical personnel to launch and operate the program, including director, assistant professor and technician.

Company will construct a new, multi-billion-dollar, state-of-the-art centrifuge uranium enrichment facility, creating more than 300 new direct jobs and investing $4. 5 billion. Infrastructure improvements at the SSP-2 site in Oak Ridge.

This funding is contingent on the successful land transfer from the Department of Energy to Orano USA and Orano USA receiving licensing approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for operation on the site. University of Tennessee Knoxville Funding for the establishment of a nuclear engineering minor program and for faculty to provide nuclear technical training and assistance to teachers and faculty across the state.
