Whether you’re considering our CNA program, phlebotomy technician classes, or nursing skills refresher training, you don’t have to navigate funding alone. Below are three key financial aid resources available to eligible students in Michigan. Each can help reduce or eliminate tuition costs so you can focus on your training and career rather than obstacles.
Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship This state-program is designed for recent Michigan high school graduates or individuals with a high school equivalency certificate who are enrolling in a career training program. This scholarship covers the cost of tuition for our CNA and Phlebotomy Technician Program. You must be a Michigan resident for at least the year immediately preceding application.
You must have graduated from high school, or earned your GED in Michigan in 2023 or later and not yet earned an associate or bachelor’s degree. You must enroll in an eligible career training program (such as those offered here at Nursing Detroit). This is a great fit if you’re planning to begin a training program quickly and want to reduce your tuition or out-of-pocket cost.
The Michigan Works! Network offers funding assistance for individuals seeking training in high-demand industries, and that includes healthcare careers. According to the program details, funding is based on demonstrated financial need, must be for a training in a high-demand occupation, and the applicant must show acceptance or enrollment in a qualifying program.
You must apply and meet eligibility (including need) and schedule verification. Nursing Detroit does not participate with Detroit at Work. This funding source is ideal if you are seeking help to attend one of our training programs and meet need-based criteria.
