Oklahoma Historical Society Grants

Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program is sponsored by Oklahoma Historical Society. This program provides competitive grants to support the collection, preservation, and dissemination of Oklahoma history at the local and community level. While not directly for summer camp facilities, organizations with a historical component to their facilities or programming may be able to fund related capital improvements. Projects can include enhancing collections, creating engaging exhibits, developing educational programming, and building organizational capacity. A 10% match is required for most projects. Annual operating budget of applicant organization must be under $750,000.

Heritage Preservation Grant Program is a grant from the Oklahoma Historical Society that funds grassroots history projects across Oklahoma. Offering awards ranging from $1,000 to $25,000, the program supports collections care, exhibit development, educational programming, and organizational capacity building. Eligible applicants include tribal governments, municipal governments, and not-for-profit historical organizations located in Oklahoma and registered with the Oklahoma Secretary of State. The program is designed to encourage the collection, preservation, and sharing of Oklahoma history at the local level, making funding accessible to community-based organizations throughout the state.

Project Support: Small and Large Grants is a grant program from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund that funds project-based work in arts and culture, education, animal wellbeing, historic preservation, and environmental conservation across Central Oklahoma. Small grants of $10,000 or less are accepted on a rolling basis with a 60-day review period. Large grants over $10,000 begin with a Letter of Inquiry due June 1 or December 1. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits operating for at least three years, serve the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and surrounding counties, and demonstrate 100% board member giving. Grantees are limited to one request per year. The foundation does not fund organizations that advocate for or are involved in the killing, abuse, or harm of animals.
