One for One - Child Scholarship and Community Grant Program is sponsored by Graceland Africa Mission. The One for One program provides scholarships to Kenyan children who need financial support to attend school, covering fees, uniforms, supplies, and medical needs.

Education — Graceland Africa Mission In spite of "free schooling" many Primary, Junior secondary, and Secondary school children in Kenya are unable to obtain a basic education. Students from impoverished backgrounds are regularly sent home from school because they do not have shoes or a school uniform, items their parents or guardians cannot afford to buy. Many government primary schools are overcrowded with up to 60 students per class.

They often lack the basics that make a school a good learning environment; desks and books, decent latrines, and other necessities. Private schools have sprung up to fill the need, but often parents cannot afford to have their children attend these schools.

Student Scholarship Programs Since 2013, the One for One - Child Scholarship and Community Grant Program has been supported by a network of partners with a vision to invest in Kenyans. Contrary to what is commonly shown in the news, Africa is brimming with potential. Although the needs are great, Africa is not lacking in intelligence or motivation.

The goal of One for One is to help Kenyan children reach their potential through education, and to assist their families with capacity development initiatives. Scholarships are given to children who need financial support to attend school. Scholarships pay for school fees, school uniforms, school supplies and medical needs.

An annual donation of $330 or monthly PAD of $28. 50 provides a scholarship and a grant to Kenyan children in need. GAM deducts only $25 per child annually to cover some of our operating expenses.

Annual reports are mailed to sponsors; and donors have the opportunity to communicate with their a student through letters and photos. Sponsors also have the option to provide $30 for Christmas presents for students that include solar lamps, blankets, food for the family, and school supplies. 2.

Right to Be Girl’s Scholarships Right to be is a girls’ scholarship and mentorship program dedicated to helping Kenyan girls and young women obtain secondary school, college, and university education and training. 3. Hesima Boy’s Scholarships Education is the best means by which we can assist Kenyan boys and young men to move up from the rank and file of the poor.
