One Year Access to Care Grant is sponsored by AAPD Foundation. Supports community-based initiatives providing dental care to underserved populations. Open to non-private dental and medical organizations in the US and territories.

Apply for a Dental Grant | AAPD Foundation Access to Care Grant Application Selected applicants can receive one-year grants of up to $30,000, supporting community-based initiatives in the U.S. that provide dental care and ultimately serve as a primary dentist to underserved/limited access children. All non-private dental and/or medical organizations located in the United States and its Territories are welcome to apply.

Calling All Grant Reviewers! The AAPD Foundation is looking for enthusiastic, responsible individuals to review applications for Access to Care Grants. Dentists, pediatric dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, residents, and those in the dental or healthcare industry are welcome to volunteer.

Grant reviewers evaluate submitted applications by qualified organizations to determine whether the project meets the standards to receive an AAPD Foundation Access to Care Grant. Reviewers complete a corresponding evaluation form for each application. Attend a one-hour remote calibration session where you’ll be trained on review and evaluation protocols.

Reviewers have approximately eight weeks to review assigned applications , between mid-September and mid-November. Each application takes on average 30 minutes to review . We anticipate a high number of submissions this year so reviewers might have as many as 25 applications to review.

2027-2028 One Year Access to Care Grant applications are now open through September 18. No, there is no access code required. You can proceed to the application by clicking on the “Apply” icon.

What is the approved use of funds? Access to Care Grant monies may be applied for any related expense as long as it directly linked to a child/children receiving regular dental care. Salaries, instruments, equipment, indirect cost (up to 15%), education materials, travel and transportation cost, meal costs, and take-home supplies have been funded previously by the AAPD Foundation.

If my organization’s clinic is a part of a larger institution, what information should I use? The AAPD Foundation only wants information/data that specifically pertains to your area of work. Please refrain from using generalized information that includes the entire institution/organization.

Do not include over-arching mission statements, finances, and patient data. You should only include information that is specific to your clinic/department. While it can be mentioned that your organization is large, please focus on the dental care and child oral health aspects of your request.

Is my organization a startup? The Foundation defines a “startup” as a newly-established organization/clinic within the first three years of formal incorporation and/or receiving its 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) nonprofit designation. New initiatives by established organizations will be considered.
