Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) Grants — The Youth Cafe | A Light Bulb of Youth In African Development Africa-Europe United for Youth Impact Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) The Africa-Europe Youth Academy (AEYA) is one of the flagships of the Youth Action Plan (YAP) in European Union external action and part of the Global Gateway Africa-Europe Investment Package under the “Youth Mobility for Africa Flagship”.
Expertise France is lead of the project and operates in consortium with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). AEYA is a four‑year programme (2025–2029) with a total budget of €15 million, implemented across 20 Sub‑Saharan African countries. The AEYA programme aims to strengthen the role of young people as change agents and leaders of sustainable development , while reinforcing the links between Africa and Europe.
The primary targets are young people between the ages of 18 and 30, with a particular focus on young women and youth in situations of vulnerability. The current Call for Projects falls under Work Package 1 – Unlock Potential , which focuses on establishing and strengthening “Spaces for Youth” across 18 countries.
The Youth Café has been selected as the implementing partner for 11 countries: Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Under this Call for Projects, selected youth organizations will receive financial and technical support to create or strengthen Youth Spaces in their communities.
Applications must be submitted by 7 August 2026 at 11:59 PM GMT+3 . An information session will be held on 20 July 2026 . Proposals may be submitted in English or French .
