Operation Family Fund provides grants for transportation and vehicle repair, as well as assistance with the purchase, rent, or lease of a vehicle for service members and disabled veterans and their dependents.

How to apply for assistance | Donations for war veterans How To Apply For Assistance Operation Family Fund provides financial assistance to eligible recipients in the form of grants. Below is a description on how to apply for assistance.

Financial grants for each eligible member or members family to meet personal, short and long term living needs in these areas; food, rent or utilities, emergency transportation and vehicle repair, funeral expenses, legal expenses, medical/dental expenses, assistance with a home, rental, lease, purchase or home improvements, assistance with the purchase, rent or lease of a vehicle, trauma training and counseling, caregiver training and support.

The Board of Directors has final approval of all funds allocation and selection of money managers. Funds shall be distributed only to eligible members or family of eligible members without prejudice to race, religion or citizenship.

The member must have been an employee or contractor working for the U.S. Federal Government and have been performing duties in conjunction with the war on terror and or Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom at the time of their severe disability. The family of the member must meet the criteria listed below. A family may apply and be approved for no more than two grants with a minimum of six months between to grants.

Caregivers must be in the full time or part time care of OEF/OIF active duty, reserve duty, national guard, and veterans . First-time applicants will have the highest priority. The Board of Directors has final approval of all funds allocation.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 1. Eligible members and families of members of Military and Civilian personnel who have been severely injured while serving their country as a result of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom both domestically and abroad. 2.

Member is defined as any person serving officially as an employee of the U.S. federal government or contractor to the U.S. federal government. Proof of employment and assignment to Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom will be required. The Operation Family Fund Board of Directors along with medical consultants shall determine the eligibility of severely disabled members.

Priority of eligibility for a grant is given in the following area: As a result of injury due to a hostile action with a VA service-connected disability rating of 100%. Your case manager, social worker or doctor must verify to us; your service-connected disability rating. Caregivers grants are provided for training , and the caregiver must work with OEF/OIF active, reserve, national guard, and veterans.

To ensure that your donation goes to eligible families, not to unnecessary overhead, Operation Family Fund was founded with private donations and is run by volunteers.

There is no paid staff. Mandatory and discretionary cost are paid by volunteers and donors for that purpose. To assist the injured and families of the those who have been injured as a part of the Global War on Terrorism, whether domestic or abroad, military or civilian, with financial grants for transitioning to their new circumstances and achieving financial self-sufficiency.

He bravely endured four rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with the express wish to be able to continue raising money to support veterans and first responders. When complications arose, it was a small mercy that Michael’s transition was swift, painless, and in the company of his loved ones. It is our profound honor to preserve Michael’s legacy through the continuance of Operation Family Fund.

His patriotism, commitment to veterans, compassion for those suffering from post-traumatic stress, and love of country will forever be our north star. His mission is ours to finish, as we honor his legacy and cherish his memory.
