Resident Research Project Grant # **Resident Research Project Grant** Provides funding to residents who are interested in research. Applications may be submitted by domestic non-profit, public and private institutions of higher education, such as hospitals, medical schools, universities, and colleges. The resident applicant (PI) must be an orthopaedic surgery resident in an ACGME-Accredited orthopaedic program in the United States.
Applicants are limited to one submission per individual, regardless of category, per year. The same project may not be submitted in multiple grant categories, even if the PI is different. The investigator may receive only one OREF grant of each type during his/her lifetime How do I access an application in proposalCENTRAL?

This restriction does not apply to Co-PI status or to applicants to the Mentored Clinician Scientist Grant. A PI may submit only one (1) LOI in a grant cycle. Who can apply for an OREF grant?
OREF invites applications for funding for qualified, clinically relevant orthopaedic research projects. Specific eligibility requirements for each grant are listed in the grant descriptions. OREF strongly encourages the submission of well-crafted basic, translational and clinical studies.
Clinical relevance must be clearly noted in the abstract and specific aims and be obvious from the title and the study design.
