Oregon Applied Sustainability Experience Internships | Oregon Sea Grant | Oregon State University Oregon Applied Sustainability Internships Building a Sustainable Future for Oregon OASIS pairs highly qualified interns with businesses in Oregon to achieve sustainability goals while offering students hands-on experience.
Through an 11-week summer internship, students are paid a stipend, and businesses receive valuable project support and mentorship. OASIS is a win-win program that supports environmental workforce development, waste prevention, environmental protection and economic savings. We can advance sustainable solutions while fostering the next generation of professionals. "At Chapul Farms, we specialize in upcycling food waste through insect agriculture. The OASIS intern who joined us took full ownership of her project, which involved identifying suitable food waste streams from large-scale processors in Oregon.
She received guidance from her professors and mentors from various fields, ensuring high-quality input into the project. The OASIS program team was accommodating, working with us to tailor their program to our specific needs, even though our project was slightly outside their usual scope. We were thrilled to witness the collective impact of these interns across the state during the program's culminating summer event."
