Foundation Scholarships | Genesis Healthcare System Each year the Foundation awards scholarships to deserving youth in Muskingum, Perry, Guernsey, Coshocton, Noble and Morgan counties pursuing a degree in healthcare. Below is a listing of our scholarships. Physician Memorial Scholarship – Due March 15, 2026 To apply for our Physician Memorial Scholarship, please click HERE .
The Physician Memorial Scholarship is due by March 15, 2026 . Other Foundation Scholarships – Due May 22, 2026 To apply for all the scholarships described below on this page, please apply online HERE . Applications are accepted now through May 22, 2026.
Applications must be completed and returned to the Genesis HealthCare Foundation, 1135 Maple Ave. , Zanesville, OH 43701. Applications must be postmarked by no later than May 22, 2026.
Applications submitted without complete information or without all the requested attachments will not be eligible. Recipients must agree to publicity of the award and are asked to provide a written thank you letter to the donor of this scholarship endowment fund. ALL applicants will be notified of selection status by June 25, 2026.
The Genesis HealthCare Foundation will make awards payable directly to the recipient’s college or university after a copy of the recipient’s thank you letter to the donor has been received. GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: Minimum 3.

& Bobbie Gonder Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of John A. & Bobbie Gonder, former Genesis HealthCare Foundation Director of Development and his wife. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in healthcare and preferably residing in the Genesis service area of Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties (permanent address not school address).
The Hooper Scholarship was established by James and Betty Hooper of Zanesville, Ohio. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in a healthcare field other than nursing. Restricted to Genesis HealthCare System employees and their immediate family members who reside in Muskingum or Perry County (permanent address, not school address).
Merry Nursing Scholarship The Merry Nursing Scholarship was established by Edward L. Merry and Bernice Anderson Merry. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing.
Recipient must reside in Muskingum County (permanent address, not school address). Moody Nursing Scholarship The Moody Nursing Scholarship was established by Donald Moody in memory of his wife Judith M. Moody, R.
N. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing. Preference will be given to Genesis HealthCare System employees and their immediate families who reside in the Genesis Healthcare System service area of Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties (permanent address not school address).
Charles & Gloria Wehr Nursing Scholarship The Wehr Nursing Scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Charles L. & Gloria Wehr. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing.
Recipients must be Genesis HealthCare System employees and their immediate families, who reside in Muskingum County. Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Scholarship The Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Scholarship was established by the Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Association, preferably for descendants of graduates of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing.
This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing or a health-related field. Dr. Bobby D. Young Scholarship The Dr. Bobby D.
Young Scholarship was established by the family of Dr. Bobby D. Young. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing or a health-related field.

Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association Scholarship The Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Scholarship was established by the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association preferably for descendants of graduates of the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing or a health-related field. Robert C.
Bumpus Family Scholarship The Robert C. Bumpus Family Scholarship was established by the Genesis Pro-Am Committee to honor his memory as one of the founding fathers of this event. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in healthcare and preferably reside in the Genesis Service Area (Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble or Guernsey) permanent address not school address.
The Ellen Hillis Scholarship was established by the Genesis Pro-Am Committee to honor her 28 years of service and dedication to the Genesis Pro-Am. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in healthcare and preferably reside in the Genesis Service Area (Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble or Guernsey) permanent address not school address.
Genesis Credit Union Scholarship The Genesis Credit Union Scholarship was established by the Credit Union to provide funds for applicants pursuing a degree in healthcare administration, nursing, medical school, physical therapist or pharmacist and preferably reside in the Genesis Service Area (Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble or Guernsey) permanent address not school address.
Must be a Genesis Employees' Credit Union Member or child/grandchild of a member.
Bob & Debbie Kessler Scholarship The Bob & Debbie Kessler Scholarship was established to provide funds for applicants based on financial need, pursuing a degree in health care field, i.e. nursing, medical school, physical therapist, or pharmacist and preferably reside in the Genesis Service Area (Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble or Guernsey) permanent address not school address.
